The Cat C2.2, an industrial engine with 67 horsepower (50 kW), can propel the Fat Truck over difficult terrain or mud, snow, and water with many people on board or a load of cargo weighing up to 2,200 pounds when properly used. The 2.8C also has plenty of torque: up to 153 lb-ft (206 N⋅m) of torque at 1,400 rpm.

The pickup model of the FAT TRUCK will be used by the utility industry as a new type of vehicle to facilitate working in hard-to-reach job sites.
